Multicultural Services

South Australia’s community contains a rich mix of people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. PEACE (Personal Education And Community Empowerment) Multicultural Service is a statewide service within Relationships Australia SA which supports and assists CALD individuals, families and communities.

If you are from a CALD background and need assistance dealing with problem gambling or addiction, PEACE Multicultural Services can help. Our services are free.

For many of us, gambling is an accepted social and recreational activity. Sometimes it can begin to affect our life, finances and relationships with loved ones. The following questions may help you to decide if gambling is currently or could become a problem for you or your loved one.

  • Do you gamble or think about gambling every day?
  • Do you spend more money on gambling than you can afford to lose?
  • Does gambling take up too much time and interfere with other activities?
  • Does gambling interfere with your important relationships?
  • Do you hide your gambling from people?
  • Do you borrow money to gamble?
  • Do you find it difficult to stop gambling?
  • Does gambling cause you stress?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions and would like to speak with someone, please contact the PEACE Multicultural Services on (08) 8245 8100.

PEACE Multicultural Services Community Ambassadors Project – You Are Not Alone

The PEACE Community Ambassadors are individuals who are well connected with their own communities. As community leaders, they have been endorsed by their community leaders or are leaders themselves. They are interested in learning about the issue of gambling, how to recognise the problem and its impact on the community.
